Job Requirements

  • minimum age 18
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 or more years of experience
  • completion of company orientation food safety and sanitation training upon hire

  • bakery experience
  • communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC symbol scales label machine
  • strong customer service skills
  • reading and writing skills
  • planning and organizing skills

Job Duties

  • provide superior customer service
  • take orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • answer customer questions regarding products
  • assist them with selections
  • use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • apply proficient baking or frying skills including equipment set-up operation cleaning and maintenance
  • use production tools to plan baking or frying
  • apply proper baking or frying techniques for each item according to visual training aids
  • plan for or break out proper amount of baked goods daily
  • ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
  • ensure baked or fried product reaches the showcase and tables at prescribed times
  • prepare package and merchandise fresh product effectively
  • slice package label and rotate products
  • record production and shrink to aid in production planning
  • clean and sanitize display cases
  • maintain production area according to SOPs
  • comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • comply with department or store operating procedures
  • operate and maintain all equipment properly
