Job Description
Olympia Fields Country Club (OFCC), established in 1915, is a prestigious private club with over a century of rich history and tradition in hosting some of the most prominent golf events in the United States. Known for its excellence and elite reputation, OFCC has been the venue for monumental events such as the US Open, US Amateur Championship, US Senior Open Championship, various Western Opens, the PGA Championship, the KPMG PGA Women’s Championship, and more recently, the BMW Championship. The club prides itself on delivering an extraordinary and unparalleled member experience that caters to every aspect of its members’ needs. This commitment to excellence makes OFCC a standout establishment in the hospitality and sports industry, symbolizing both tradition and the pursuit of exceptional service.
At OFCC, employees are the cornerstone of the club’s success and the foundation of its member experience. The club fosters an environment where staff members can develop their skills and gain valuable industry knowledge while working alongside a remarkable team of hospitality professionals. Working at OFCC is ideal for individuals seeking to thrive in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused setting that encourages growth and career advancement. The club’s culture emphasizes a positive attitude, teamwork, reliability, and professionalism to maintain its high standards.
The position available is for the role of Warewasher/Dishwasher, a critical support role within the club’s kitchen operations. Reporting under the Sous Chef, the Warewasher/Dishwasher is primarily responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, pots, pans, cooking utensils, knives, and tableware. This role demands a diligent and self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining hygiene and operational efficiency in the kitchen environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a can-do attitude, consistently approaching tasks with a smile and completing assignments efficiently. Independence in work combined with the ability to collaborate as a team member is essential to meet kitchen objectives. The Warewasher/Dishwasher must maintain a calm, professional demeanor even under pressure, projecting reliability and punctuality as core traits. Being accountable for one’s actions and demonstrating a self-driven work ethic align perfectly with the values OFCC expects from all employees.
This is a seasonal, full-time position requiring availability for the PM shift, with a flexible schedule to accommodate business demands including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Because the club experiences varying member activity levels, overtime may be necessary, with shifts potentially extending beyond standard hours. The role involves working in a hot and noisy kitchen environment, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds regularly.
OFCC offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $15 per hour, complemented by an employee referral program, free employee meals, and the opportunity to work with a fun and friendly team, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make lasting connections and learn within the hospitality industry. Joining OFCC means becoming part of a world-renowned institution where tradition meets the highest standards of hospitality excellence.
