Warehouse Porter/Custodian - 2nd Shift

The role is for a Porter located at the 500 North Street facility in Windsor Locks, CT, working the 2nd shift from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Tuesday through Friday, with a competitive pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Porters play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment which aligns with the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products to customers.

As a Porter, you will work closely with a team to ensure all areas of the warehouse, including office spaces, break areas, windows, and restrooms, remain spotless and safe. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors. You will occasionally operate equipment like electric pallet jacks and scrubbers to move and clean around products. Managing spills involving damaged products, oil, and grease is also a vital part of the job to maintain workplace safety and cleanliness. The Porter role requires adherence to all material handling equipment safety procedures and the occasional lifting of various weights and sizes in a manner that complies with safety standards.

Physical demands include standing, bending, pulling, lifting, and pivoting for up to 90% of the shift, walking on different floor types such as concrete, tile, and carpet, and handling products that weigh between 1 to 60 pounds or more. Safety is paramount, with careful handling of sharp tools and possible work on different levels within the warehouse.
