This particular role is for a Warehouse Associate position within Staples, where the primary focus is to efficiently manage warehouse operations including product handling, inventory management, and shipping while adhering to strict safety protocols. The position is scheduled from 12:00am to 5:30am, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent night shift opportunity. As part of the team, the associate will work in various warehouse areas such as Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operation, Warehouse Porter duties, Replenishment, Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Warehouse Returns, and Shipping.
The Warehouse Associate will play a critical role in ensuring that the supply chain functions seamlessly by moving products, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, confirming the accuracy of product returns, and preparing orders for shipment. Job Requirements
- Minimum three months related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent training, education, and experience
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Basic English language skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift if hired full time
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more
- Ability to lift, push or pull boxes weighing between 70 and 100 pounds by hand
- Must wear safety composite shoes
- Ability to walk and stand 100 percent of the time
- Must be at least 18 years old
Job Qualifications
- Minimum three months related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent training, education, and experience
- Basic English language skills including verbal and written communication
- Ability to be certified as a Material Handling Equipment Operator and safely operate warehouse machinery
- Ability to lift, push or pull merchandise weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers preferred
Job Duties
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move products within the warehouse safely
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties both inside and outside the facility
- Manually unload trucks and palletize products while confirming product accuracy
- Match item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items and tag appropriately
- Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets and load trucks manually
- Ensure safe work practices and promote a culture of safety in the warehouse
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate professionally with internal and external contacts to resolve issues
