Job Description
Staples is a leading business-to-business company renowned for providing essential office products and services to its customers. Its commitment to operational excellence is embodied by its world-class supply chain team, which plays a vital role in ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Staples operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment where teamwork, safety, and efficiency are paramount. The company offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities with competitive pay and a supportive work culture.
As a Warehouse Associate at Staples, you will be an essential member of the supply chain team responsible for a variety of warehouse operations. The shift for this position is from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, Sunday through Thursday, making it a unique opportunity for those interested in overnight work. In this dynamic role, you may be assigned to one of six specific areas within the warehouse, each with distinct responsibilities, involving the use of material handling equipment, manual labor, and general warehouse maintenance.
Your duties may include operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks to move products up to 100 pounds while adhering strictly to safety guidelines. This role also involves general cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Other tasks include receiving, replenishing inventory, handling returns, preparing orders for shipment, and manually unloading trucks. The position demands flexibility as you may be rotated through various roles, including SC1 tasks, depending on business needs.
Safety is a top priority at Staples. The company expects all employees to quickly adopt its safety procedures and actively participate in fostering a safety-first culture. The warehouse environment exposes employees to seasonal temperature changes and requires physical stamina, including the ability to walk and stand throughout the shift, lift heavy merchandise, and work at heights up to 60 feet.
Staples values inclusivity and collaboration, encouraging associates to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers alike. This commitment to diversity and inclusion helps create a workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to contribute their best. Staples also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive hourly wages with shift differentials, paid time off, holiday pay, and various wellness programs. Employees receive work shoes after 60 days and are supported by associate-led business resource groups that promote an inclusive culture.
Overall, the Warehouse Associate role at Staples offers a rewarding career opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a well-established company with a focus on safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. Whether you have prior warehouse experience or are looking to develop new skills in a supportive environment, Staples provides the resources and opportunities to help you succeed and grow within the company.
