Johnstone Supply stands as North America's leading wholesale distributor specializing in HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) equipment, parts, and supplies. With over seventy years of operational excellence, this esteemed company has built a vast network consisting of more than 470 distributor branches and 6 well-equipped distribution centers across North America. This extensive reach allows Johnstone Supply to effectively serve a wide range of contractors and businesses by providing world-class product offerings, technical expertise, and unparalleled customer service. They boast partnerships with some of the most recognized and respected brands in the HVACR industry, including Daikin, Goodman, Honeywell, Emerson, Johnson Controls, Google, and Fujitsu. These strategic collaborations illustrate their commitment to quality and innovation in addressing customer needs.
At Johnstone Supply, the culture is built on the foundation of strong relationships – between employees, customers, and partners – which is a cornerstone for their continued growth and success. The company fosters an environment where teamwork, professional development, and empowerment are prioritized, making it an excellent place for those seeking career advancement and personal growth. As the company continues to expand, they are actively looking for dedicated individuals to join their team and contribute to the organization’s ongoing progress and industry leadership.
The Warehouse/Material Handler Lead role at Johnstone Supply is a crucial position responsible for ensuring seamless, safe, and efficient warehouse operations. This position involves managing specific operational areas such as shipping, receiving, and warranty processing within their warehouse facilities. The Lead acts as an expert resource and supporter for other material handlers by delivering training, guidance, and expert knowledge to improve operational productivity and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, equipment, and systems, gained through technical and hands-on experience.
In this leadership capacity, the Warehouse/Material Handler Lead actively oversees daily activities including operation of forklifts and other power equipment, inventory management, order picking and packing, shipment preparation, and inspection of incoming product conditions. Maintaining accuracy in labeling, documentation, and adherence to safety regulations—including handling hazardous materials—is vital. The Lead collaborates across departments, assists with inventory counts, and supports regional initiatives such as employee training and procedural implementations. This role also demands commitment to fostering a safe and clean work environment, timely reporting of maintenance or safety concerns, and promoting professional communication within the warehouse team.
Ideal candidates for this position possess a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of three years related warehouse experience including forklift operation and training capabilities. Familiarity with the HVAC wholesale industry, OSHA regulations, and inventory management systems enhances the candidate’s suitability for this role. The Warehouse/Material Handler Lead must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work independently, and effective interpersonal skills to maintain harmonious team interactions.
Johnstone Supply’s competitive compensation package includes health and wellness benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage, supplemented with programs such as paid time off, 401(k) with employer match, holiday and parental bonding pay, life and disability insurance, and access to virtual healthcare services. The company also encourages continued learning by offering tuition reimbursement and recognizes employee contributions through referral bonuses and milestone recognition programs. This position exemplifies Johnstone Supply’s commitment to investing in their people and cultivating a workplace where employees can thrive while delivering superior value to customers.
