The role of Warehouse Operator / Delivery Driver is pivotal in ensuring operational success and customer satisfaction. This position is based within a cooperative team environment in the warehouse, where employees manage incoming materials—from receiving, verifying, and staging to stocking—to maintain stringent inventory standards. The Warehouse Operator / Delivery Driver is responsible for verifying loads, operating vehicles ranging from class C to Class B trucks depending on assignment, and safely loading and unloading materials. This role demands versatility, as driving involves various conditions including urban and construction environments. Delivery drivers become critical links in maintaining high-quality customer service and professionalism while empowering communities by delivering essential materials that enable clean water and heating/cooling solutions.
Candidates in this role will develop valuable skills including knowledge of DOT regulations and forklift certification, with clear pathways to career advancement in leadership roles, CDL driving, or sales opportunities. The job also includes physical demands such as lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, squatting, and working both indoors and outdoors. Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license for assigned vehicle class
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75 pounds or more
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, crouching, reaching
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors as needed
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to operate common office equipment and technology
- Commitment to attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license for assigned vehicle class
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Forklift operation skills or willingness to obtain certification
- Ability to safely operate class B and class C vehicles
- Experience in warehouse and inventory management preferred but not required
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Customer service experience beneficial
Job Duties
- Work cooperatively within a warehouse team to efficiently receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials
- Verify all loads to ensure accurate customer deliveries
- Properly load and unload materials from trucks while maintaining inventory control
- Operate assigned class of vehicle safely in diverse conditions including urban and construction settings
- Deliver high quality customer service and demonstrate professionalism
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with all safety regulations
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company policies
