The Warehouse Associate I position at Niagara is a vital role within the logistics and supply chain operations. This role primarily focuses on managing the efficient and accurate handling of inventory through the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including checking trucks in and out and ensuring the quality and efficiency of trailer loading and unloading processes. The associate will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) to move products safely and efficiently within the warehouse. Responsibilities include validating new stock keeping units (SKUs), coordinating outbound shipments to meet customer and transportation requirements, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The associate will also engage in quality control by identifying and reporting issues with finished goods and raw materials while contributing to daily shipping and inventory tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to learn LGV systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Receive all inbound orders into WMS including spring water, resin, corrugated materials, film, labels, UPS deliveries, Federal Express deliveries, water transfer as needed
  • Rebuild damaged pallets prior to restock
  • Process RMAs
  • Consolidate finished goods storage for maximum storage capabilities
  • Identify, report and observe quality issues with finished goods and raw materials
  • Validate new SKU's in WMS to ensure proper LGV storage and handling
  • Correct LGV alarms
  • Monitor loads
  • Unload finished goods and raw material deliveries utilizing a forklift
  • Maintain pallet storage area
  • Offload pallets from trailers and stage for LGV pickup
  • Correct product spills
  • Manually pull pallets from production as needed
  • Supply production with non-inventory items such as glue, bags, labels
  • Air bag loads
  • Clear up blocked locations in WMS
  • Possibly operate a forklift when needed
  • Facilitate flow of information between logistics, production, and sales to ensure timely and accurate service
  • Test and monitor resin and spring water
  • Coordinate preload activities including inspecting trailers to ensure all loads complete on time
  • Check in trucks and communicate loading instructions
  • Provide correct loading documents, bills of lading, and truck seals upon departure
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports for daily shipping and inventory control
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe warehouse
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance
  • Answer and make phone calls using proper etiquette
  • Communicate with inside and outside contacts to ensure on-time truck loading and troubleshoot issues
  • Coordinate with transportation and production scheduling to maintain shipment flow.
