Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Able to successfully complete responsible vendor program
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to follow oral instructions in English
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu
- Ability to answer or refer questions and coordinate meal service
- Must be able to lift and carry 50-pound service tray 50 feet
- Must be able to bend and pick up items from the floor
- Must be able to reach above head to remove items from shelf
- Ability to work cooperatively with members, guests and staff with courtesy, tact and graciousness
- Must possess fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service technique, personal hygiene, and professional appearance
- Walks or stands 90 percent of the time
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds approximately 50 feet
- Works in a fast-paced environment and must be able to move quickly
- Must be able to carry, bend, and stand for long periods
- Works indoors with limited exposure to outside elements
- Work may involve hazards such as falls, cuts, burns from equipment, hot foods, odors, chemicals throughout the day
- May be subject to hostile and emotional members and must handle with positive service attitude
Job Qualifications
- Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field work routines
- Equivalent to four years high school or GED
- 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service technique, personal hygiene, and professional appearance
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to interpret menu and communicate requests
- Ability to work cooperatively with members, guests, and staff with courtesy and tact
Job Duties
- Prepares and mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as specified by the bartender's drink mixing guide
- Assumes responsibilities and accountability for member's lounge charges and tallies daily
- Completes daily liquor usage sheets and assists with weekly liquor inventory and ordering
- Takes orders and provides service graciously and courteously
- Maintains high level of customer service for residents and guests
- Abides by all established community policies, procedures, and rules, including attendance
- Maintains personal hygiene and cleanliness standards, wearing appropriate uniform
- Attends in-service training and educational seminars
- Maintains safe and sanitary work areas for employees and members
- Sets tables and maintains workstations according to policies
- Communicates menu selections, specials, and requests effectively
- Completes assigned side work including cleaning and sanitizing cocktail lounge and bar area
- Performs specific duties as assigned by supervisor
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
