The position available is for a waitstaff member at Parkway Place, one of Buckner's Houston, TX locations. This role is onsite and classified as PRN/Occasional, providing flexible work schedules for those seeking part-time or intermittent employment. The primary responsibility of the waitstaff is to deliver outstanding service to residents, ensuring a dining experience that meets or exceeds Buckner's high-quality standards in hospitality and service. Waitstaff play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere by being upbeat, courteous, and professional in all interactions. The role demands superb guest relations and communication skills, with the ability to navigate the menu expertly and accurately take food and beverage orders. Using Buckner's point of sales system, the waitstaff will transmit orders to the kitchen while working collaboratively with other team members to deliver food and beverages promptly.

Additionally, the waitstaff must handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all payments. The job includes maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining and kitchen areas and completing assigned side-work duties diligently. This position requires a team-oriented attitude, adaptability in multitasking, and adherence to Buckner's Service Standards to ensure every guest's experience is enhanced through genuine hospitality. Physical demands include the ability to move equipment and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, and other movement-intensive tasks for the majority of the shift. The waitstaff must also safely operate kitchen equipment and be attentive to any mechanical issues or safety concerns.   • Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English

  • ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
  • ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks
  • ability to perform tasks considering residents in vicinity and cooperate with other employees
  • ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness, and sanitation requirements

Job Duties
