The organization prides itself on fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment where employees can grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those they serve.
The Waitstaff position at Riverside Health System plays a critical role in ensuring a memorable dining experience for residents and their guests. This role goes beyond merely serving food—it involves providing exceptional hospitality that meets and exceeds customer expectations. Waitstaff members must be knowledgeable about current menu options, ingredients, and dietary restrictions to accommodate the special needs of each resident. Working in close collaboration with the kitchen team, waitstaff ensure all orders are prepared and served accurately and timely. The position demands a keen understanding of service protocols, sensitivity to the preferences and needs of seniors, and a professional approach to handling any issues related to meal service.
As a Waitstaff member, you will be expected to follow standard service guidelines, greeting and seating residents and their guests promptly and delivering meals with grace and efficiency. Your commitment to superior customer service will help create a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere that supports the overall well-being and satisfaction of our residents. Daily responsibilities include completing opening and closing side work, restocking supplies, assisting with cold food prep, assembling resident trays accurately in compliance with dietary restrictions, and utilizing food service technology for order management.
Safety and quality control are paramount in this role. Adherence to food handling protocols—such as proper glove use, hair restraints, labeling, dating, temperature monitoring, and food rotation—is necessary to ensure the health and safety of all diners. Moreover, you will contribute to maintaining the ambiance and cleanliness of the dining area by performing table set-up and break down tasks, along with thorough sanitation and disinfection practices.
Beyond serving meals, Riverside Health System emphasizes the importance of maintaining the self-respect, dignity, and physical safety of every resident served. The role requires effective time management skills, punctuality, and adherence to the facility-approved uniform policy. This employment opportunity enables you to join a respected healthcare system where your efforts directly enhance the quality of life for seniors and other patients.
