The position available is a Culinary Services team member at NewBridge, a community within Hebrew SeniorLife. The role centers on delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents and their guests, balancing efficiency and quality with genuine care and attentiveness. The team member is expected to serve meals with professionalism and courtesy, maintain a clean and orderly dining environment, and be adaptable to working in different dining rooms as needed. Beyond the functional duties, the role requires nurturing a warm atmosphere where residents feel valued and respected during meal times. Interaction with residents includes understanding their preferences and dietary requirements, thus contributing to personalized service. Training and ongoing professional development are encouraged to ensure staff stay informed about best practices and maintain high standards of care. This position supports the broader mission of Hebrew SeniorLife by helping to create positive, meaningful moments for residents during their daily lives. This is a part-time or full-time role with a salary range of $16.16 to $24.99 per hour, reflecting the responsibility and importance of the position within the community's care framework.

Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Experience in customer service or food service preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and in different dining rooms
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols
  • Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance

Job Duties

  • Preset tables in assigned area and follow serving and cleaning procedures
  • Be courteous to members at all times, take member food orders, serve food, buss table and reset table after member departure
  • Be familiar with daily menu offerings with special regard to chef pre-meal
  • Keep dining room and work area neat and orderly at all times, follow daily sanitation cleaning schedules
  • Be alert to the likes and dislikes of members when serving and report problems promptly
  • Attend in-service training sessions and cooperate with co-workers to ensure smooth operation
  • Learn the art of food serving, communicate effectively, and maintain a pleasant personality
