Job Description
Our establishment is a well-respected senior living community dedicated to providing an environment where seniors can enjoy quality dining experiences along with comprehensive care services. Focused on creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all residents, we combine hospitality with attentive support tailored to meet individual needs. Our community values safety, warmth, and respect, ensuring that every resident feels comfortable and respected during their visit to our dining areas.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Dining Room Attendant who will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety standards of our dining services. This position demands excellence in service as well as attentiveness to the well-being of senior residents. The Dining Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring that dining rooms and waitress stations are clean, organized, and visually appealing. They must remain vigilant to potential hazards that could affect the safety of residents, such as trip risks. The role includes managing the dining room setup according to established hospitality standards and assisting with the preparation and distribution of food and supplies. This ensures that all residents receive meals that meet their specific dietary requirements while enjoying a pleasant dining atmosphere.
The role also encompasses observing personal hygiene and maintaining cleanliness, both for themselves and the dining environments. Confidentiality regarding resident information is paramount, and the attendant must uphold this at all times. Furthermore, the position includes responsibilities related to food safety, such as properly handling food during preparation, holding, and service stages in compliance with state regulations. The attendant will also participate actively in the upkeep and sanitation of the kitchen, serving areas, and storerooms, contributing to overall operational excellence.
Collaboration and flexibility are important attributes for this position since the Dining Room Attendant may occasionally be asked to fill in for other staff members across related roles. Safety is a top priority, requiring all associates to be alert, cautious, and proactive in maintaining a secure environment for both residents and employees. Candidates must also disclose any medications that could impair their ability to perform duties safely.
Non-essential but valuable qualities include demonstrating servant leadership by exemplifying the community's core values, a passion for working with seniors, and participating in community enrichment activities. Attendance at required meetings and active engagement in life enrichment programs are encouraged to foster a more connected community. Familiarity and compliance with safety protocols, such as the Safe Return program for reporting missing persons and fire evacuation procedures, are also essential components of this role.
Overall, the Dining Room Attendant position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, compassionate community where service excellence and resident safety are prioritized. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hospitality, possess a cheerful disposition, and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of seniors within our community.
