The role of Bus Staff at Orchard Cove involves a blend of hospitality, cleaning, and resident interaction responsibilities. As a bus staff member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the dining area's cleanliness, presetting tables according to the Culinary Services manual, and ensuring that all serving procedures are followed meticulously. You will be expected to familiarize yourself with the daily food and dessert menus to assist residents effectively and to communicate any special requests or concerns to the host or hostess promptly. This role requires a strong commitment to professionalism and hospitality at all times, as you will work closely with residents during their meals. You will conduct thorough and accurate resident checks and maintain the dining room and work areas in a neat and orderly fashion throughout each shift. Adherence to sanitation cleaning schedules is vital to maintain health and safety standards. This position also includes participating in regular in-service training sessions to stay updated on best practices and industry knowledge. Cooperation and coordination with other team members and supervisors are necessary to ensure seamless dining room operations. Duties may also include performing special projects or additional job-related tasks assigned by the Host/Hostess or Dining Room Supervisor. The position offers a salary range of $16.16 to $24.99 per hour, with flexible working hours including weekends and holidays. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and to walk short distances
- Frequent stooping, reaching and lifting
- Works in a clean, well lighted and ventilated environment
- Possible work hazards include cuts, burns, slips and falls
- Follow uniform policy and good personal hygiene
Job Qualifications
- Able to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidays
- Minimum of six months experience as a bus staff at Orchard Cove or in an upscale hotel or restaurant
- Ability to pass a CORI background check and physical exam including TB test
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal or written form
Job Duties
- Preset tables and follow serving and cleaning procedures according to Culinary Services manual
- Be familiar and conversant with the daily food and dessert menus
- Be professional and hospitable to residents at all times
- Complete resident checks accurately and thoroughly
- Maintain dining room and work area neat and orderly at all times
- Follow daily sanitation cleaning schedules
- Be alert to the likes and dislikes of residents when serving food and make the host/hostess promptly aware of any problem
- Attend in-service training sessions with co-workers to keep abreast of current knowledge in the field
- Cooperate and coordinate work activities with co-workers to ensure a smoothly run department
- Perform assigned job related duties or special projects assigned by the Host/Hostess or Dining Room Supervisor
