The Waitstaff role at Buckner Villas, located in Austin, TX, is an integral position designed to enhance the dining experience of the residents through exceptional service and hospitality. This position operates onsite at Buckner Villas, situated at 11110 Tom Adams Dr, Austin, TX 78753. As Waitstaff, you will be responsible for a series of vital tasks including setting and cleaning tables throughout meal times, serving food and beverages in the dining areas, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of workspaces and equipment. The position also involves preparing beverages and certain food items, managing inventory such as receiving and storing groceries, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and sanitation regulations. This role demands physical stamina as it involves moving equipment and supplies, standing for extended periods, and performing various tasks that require bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- ability to read, write and understand business documents written in English
- ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions
- ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed
- physical ability to walk, sit, stand for prolonged periods and perform activities requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, handling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- commitment to Christian principles and teachings
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- compliance with Patient Rights and regulatory requirements
- sufficient good health to perform job duties safely

Job Duties
- Set tables, bus tables, and wash off tables after meals in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
- prepare beverages and foods as required
- serve food in dining rooms or other areas as required
- serve beverages to residents as required
- blend food in electric blender
- prepare steam table
- prepare hot cart and serve food
- clean and sanitize carts
- wash dishes
- scrape and rack dishes
- sort, stack, store clean dishes
- mop, sweep, and clean work area
- take out trash
- wrap silverware
- receive and store groceries, frozen foods, produce, etc
- date and rotate canned goods in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
- detect, correct or report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents or others
- observe and report resident symptoms, reactions and changes
- attend and participate in meetings and in-service training
- maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements
- maintain compliance with all federal and state laws
- maintain compliance with all agency regulatory guidelines and requirements
- work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers
- perform other assignments, projects and duties as assigned
