This role offers a seasonal schedule from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm with variable days, providing a dynamic work environment for those interested in gaining experience in food service within a supportive, community-focused setting. The position offers competitive pay ranging between $17.50 and $18.00 per hour along with a free meal during shifts.\n\nThis role is pivotal in delivering outstanding dining services to residents and guests by taking food and beverage orders and ensuring timely delivery while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The Waiter/Waitress will act as a critical liaison between guests and kitchen staff, providing knowledgeable advice on menu items and accommodating specific dietary requirements and preferences. Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests are met
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- address complaints promptly and relay information to supervisors
- ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service
- operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- collaborate with staff during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
