Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients advising guests on food and drink combinations
  • communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and maintains a flexible, patient demeanor with guests and staff
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes and maintains a clean, safe and neat environment in the dining area
  • addresses complaints or issues promptly and relays information to supervisor
  • ensures the dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • works with other departments during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
