Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- able to perform physical tasks related to the role such as standing and walking for extended periods
- previous waiter/waitress experience preferred but not required
- availability to work flexible and variable shifts including some nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace
- authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food service or hospitality a plus but not required
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards preferred
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- basic knowledge of specialized diets and allergens is advantageous
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
- communicate directly with kitchen and back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when interacting with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
- ensure proper setup and cleanliness of the dining area before and after service periods
- operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- work with staff from other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
