Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year professional server experience
  • availability to work part-time including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays evenings
  • ability to work occasional weekday mornings and evenings
  • experience in an assisted living facility preferred
  • ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year professional server experience
  • experience in assisted living facility preferred
  • ability to understand and communicate menu items and specialized diets
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle cash and follow cash-handling procedures
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks and accommodate reasonable requests
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • work with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
