Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food service or customer service
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift moderate weights
- Availability to work part-time with flexible hours including weekends
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well both individually and in a team
- Must be willing to undergo any required background checks and comply with workplace policies

- Previous serving experience preferred especially in a senior living community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions

- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- Take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- Deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
- Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
- Accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including specialized diets and allergens
- Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are accurate and special requests are accommodated
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain a flexible and patient demeanor with guests and staff
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests
- Promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
- Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service and meets sanitation standards
- Operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- Collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
