Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to work part-time on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 10:30pm
  • good communication skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • ability to follow food safety standards
  • willingness to learn and be trained
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • ability to work evenings on scheduled days
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to remain patient and flexible with guests and staff
  • knowledge of specialized diets and allergens is a plus
  • ability to operate service equipment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate ability to get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information or complaints to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service period
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
