Job Requirements

  • must be able to work part-time schedules including weekends
  • must have reliable transportation to Maple Knolle Village location
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • ability to communicate clearly in English
  • willingness to comply with company policies including drug-free workplace
  • must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • strong customer service orientation
  • knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays or items
  • flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends
  • willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • previous hospitality experience is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special request accommodation
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain a positive, patient attitude with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • coordinate with other department staff during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
