Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Assist guests with additional needs or requests periodically
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • Accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain good relationships with guests and staff
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to the supervisor
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods, keeping the area clean and neat
  • Operate various equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
