Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and beverage combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note guest preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
  • promptly address guest complaints or issues and relay to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room setup is proper before and after service periods and meet sanitation standards
  • operate service equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
