Job Requirements

  • Prior server experience is required
  • ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • willingness to work full-time or part-time schedules including weekends, holidays, and weekdays
  • prior experience in senior living or healthcare settings is a plus
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • must be able to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • must be able to operate relevant dining and kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain patience when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service while meeting sanitation standards
  • operate various equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • assist with special events and functions as part of a cross-departmental team
  • perform other duties as assigned
