Job Requirements

  • Fine dining or upscale restaurant server experience required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience as a waiter/waitress in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings required
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of menu items and ability to advise guests on food and beverage pairings
  • basic math skills for handling cash and processing orders
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings
  • commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable guest requests and note preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience in guest and staff interactions
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure proper dining room setup before and after service
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
