Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior food and beverage service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • ability to handle cash responsibly
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • teamwork and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently
  • deliver food promptly and professionally
  • maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically with guests to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
