Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in food and beverage service or hospitality is beneficial
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong customer service orientation
- basic understanding of food safety and sanitation
- ability to handle cash and payment processing
- capable of standing for extended periods during shifts
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- knowledgeable about menu items and dietary restrictions is a plus
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations
- accommodate reasonable requests and note dietary preferences
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff for accurate order delivery and special requests
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain positive relationships with guests and colleagues
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
- ensure dining room is properly set up and clean before and after service periods
- operate variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- work collaboratively with other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
