Job Qualifications

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • customer service experience a plus but not required
  • ability to understand and explain menu items and dietary restrictions
  • ability to handle cash transactions properly
  • ability to work flexible hours including days
  • willingness to learn and be trained
  • team-oriented with a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests
  • communicate directly with kitchen staff to ensure correct order delivery and special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and remain patient and flexible with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service period and keep area clean
  • operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, beverage machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff from other departments during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
