Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to lift and carry items as needed
  • attention to detail and guest satisfaction
  • basic cash handling and point of sale experience

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages orders efficiently, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations when requested
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintains sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
  • promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • ensures dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • works with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
