Job Requirements
- Prior food service or waiter/waitress experience preferred
- willingness to train
- ability to work a full-time schedule including Sunday through Wednesday and Friday
- strong communication skills
- ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- physical ability to stand and move throughout the shift
- reliable and punctual
- ability to follow company policies and procedures
- authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior food service or waiter/waitress experience preferred but not required
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to stand for extended periods
- willingness to learn and be trained
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- basic math skills
- ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
- advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
- demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
- operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
- work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
