The open position is for a part-time Waiter/Waitress located at Ascension Living Resurrection Village in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering items to guests in the dining room to ensure their satisfaction. The schedule is part-time with varying days and hours, including weekend shifts typically running from 3:15 pm to 7:30 pm. No previous experience is required for this position as the company is willing to train passionate candidates who demonstrate a desire to serve others. The pay rate for this role is $16.60 per hour.

As a Waiter/Waitress at TouchPoint, individuals will play a critical role in creating moments that matter by interacting warmly with guests, ensuring their needs are met, and maintaining high standards for food safety and sanitation. Responsibilities will include greeting guests promptly, taking and delivering orders accurately, and accommodating special dietary needs. Effective communication with kitchen and other service staff is essential to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of orders. Associates must also uphold cleanliness in the dining area, handle cash transactions properly, and demonstrate discretion when dealing with medical and personal information.

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up to assist with guests' additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients advising guests when requested
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods meeting sanitation standards
  • operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
