Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Availability to work full-time or part-time with open availability preferred
- Must maintain a drug-free workplace
- Capability to handle physical demands of the job such as standing and walking
- Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a waiter/waitress or customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and open availability preferred
- Understanding of specialized diets and allergens is a plus
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- Take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- Promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to supervisors
- Ensure dining room is properly set up prior to and after service period
- Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- Work with staff of other departments during special events
- Perform other duties as assigned
