Job Requirements
- Previous catering or food service experience preferred
- ability to work on an on-call schedule with varying days and hours
- must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
- must maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- ability to follow safe food handling and sanitation procedures
- basic cash handling skills
- must be able to operate service equipment
- willing to work in Troy, NY location
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous catering or food service experience preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work on an on-call schedule with flexible hours
- basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- ability to understand and communicate menu item details including allergens
- customer service oriented
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- cooking experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain a flexible and patient demeanor with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment
- maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
- ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
- operate equipment including fire extinguishers and beverage machines
- collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
