Job Requirements

  • Prior serving and hospitality experience
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible part-time hours including varied days and times
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow established food safety and sanitation procedures
  • capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to serving
  • basic math skills for cash handling

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special accommodations
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain a positive attitude when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain high sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
