Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • Advises guests on food and drink combinations and accommodates reasonable requests
  • Communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct orders and special requests
  • Exhibits exceptional communication skills and maintains flexibility and patience with guests and staff
  • Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
  • Addresses complaints promptly and communicates issues to supervisors
  • Ensures the dining room is properly set up and kept clean before, during, and after service
  • Operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • Collaborates with other departments during special events and functions
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary
