Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior serving experience preferred
Ability to work part-time hours including weekends
Effective communication skills
Basic math skills for cash handling
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
Takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
Follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
Advises guests on food and drink combinations and accommodates reasonable requests
Communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct orders and special requests
Exhibits exceptional communication skills and maintains flexibility and patience with guests and staff
Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
Promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
Maintains confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
Addresses complaints promptly and communicates issues to supervisors
Ensures the dining room is properly set up and kept clean before, during, and after service
Operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
Collaborates with other departments during special events and functions
Performs other assigned duties as necessary
