Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • availability to work part-time during April to September seasonal period
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • must be able to follow safety and food handling guidelines
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in foodservice or hospitality is a plus
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is beneficial
  • ability to handle cash responsibly
  • customer service oriented
  • flexible and patient in dealing with guests and staff
  • basic knowledge of menu items and dietary restrictions helpful

Job Duties

  • promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests are accommodated
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
