Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when dealing with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work collaboratively with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • perform additional duties as assigned
