Job Requirements

No prior experience required
willingness to participate in training
ability to work part-time according to specified schedule
ability to stand and walk during shifts
capable of lifting and carrying trays or equipment
compliance with Ascension's drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
ability to work flexible hours including weekends
strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
friendly and professional demeanor

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs
demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests
communicate directly with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and special accommodations
exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain a positive rapport with guests and team members
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly address complaints and relay relevant information to supervisors
ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
