Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • available to work part time hours including weekends
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • capable of lifting and carrying food and beverages
  • able to follow health and safety protocols
  • willing to work varied shifts
  • previous serving experience preferred but not required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior serving experience preferred but not required
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to handle cash and operate basic equipment
  • customer service oriented
  • flexible and able to work varied schedules including weekends

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up with guests to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences, including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills, remaining flexible and patient with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
  • promptly address complaints or issues, relaying information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service periods and meets sanitation standards
  • operate various equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • assist staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
