Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous restaurant or food service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and politely
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and carry trays
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • knowledge of food safety practices
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • customer-oriented attitude

Job Qualifications

  • basic knowledge of menu items and ingredients

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink pairings
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up and clean before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work collaboratively with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
