Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
one year of previous waiter/waitress experience preferred but not required
availability to work part-time schedules including nights and weekends
ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
ability to handle cash transactions properly
ability to maintain confidentiality
physical ability to perform job duties
willingness to perform tasks related to food service and customer assistance

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
one year of previous waiter/waitress experience preferred but not required
strong communication and interpersonal skills
knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
ability to provide excellent customer service
understanding of dietary restrictions and allergens beneficial
ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
basic cash handling skills

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
accommodate reasonable requests and dietary preferences
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodate special requests
exhibit exceptional communication skills and get along well with others
remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly address complaints or issues and relay them to the supervisor
ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
