Job Requirements

Willingness to train
ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
availability to work part-time with varying schedules
reliable transportation to and from the SHU location
basic math skills for handling cash
ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior experience in foodservice or hospitality is an asset but not required
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred
ability to handle cash transactions accurately
customer service orientation
ability to work effectively as part of a team

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special request accommodations
exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, drink machines, and coffee makers
work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
