Job Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in the University of Oklahoma Fall Term
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Available for at least a 2-hour block between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at least 3 days per week
  • Ability to handle greasy, dirty materials and work in slippery or varied temperature environments
  • Ability to lift up to 58 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Physical perseverance for fast-paced work
  • Availability to work during University closings if required
  • Submit Week at a Glance class schedule
  • Subject to Tuberculosis testing policy

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma for the Fall Term
  • Skilled in safe, sanitary, and effective handling of food, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic for inventory, portion control, and cash handling
  • Ability to read and understand menus, instructions, and communication
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and perform lifting, bending, and carrying tasks
  • Willingness to assist other food services staff and participate in special events

Job Duties

  • Serve food in a courteous and respectful manner with proper portion control and menu knowledge
  • Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers safely to customers, serving lines, or dining tables
  • Load and transport food carts to and from designated floor/units
  • Wash, sanitize, and store pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
  • Scrape dishes and clean tables and serving areas
  • Clean counters and floors following proper kitchen standards
  • Assist with special events across the University
  • Operate a cash register and adhere to proper payment-handling processes
