Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience as a front waiter in fine dining or banquet service
  • Experience selling and serving wine and other beverages
  • Intermediate to advanced English communication skills
  • Training in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work seven days a week
  • Physically capable to meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements including lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders, maintaining balance, and performing physically demanding tasks
  • Able to live in close quarters and share limited space with cabin mates
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Positive attitude, polite and courteous demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience as a front waiter with fine dining and banquet service experience in 3 to 4 star hotels, resorts, free-standing restaurants with at least 180 seats or previous shipboard experience
  • Minimum two years experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products
  • Intermediate to advanced English verbal and written skills including proper grammar
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Courses or training in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Passionate about hospitality and customer service
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Respect for coworkers and guests
  • Ability to work seven days a week and develop camaraderie with team members

Job Duties

  • Assist with achieving departmental guest satisfaction targets and food and beverage revenues by following established service strategies and optimizing up-sell opportunities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed
  • Be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and SEMS and carry out appropriate policies and procedures
  • Ensure assigned stations are properly set up with required china, glassware, silverware, and mis-en-place prior to service
  • Comply with sequence of service for food and beverage and follow waiter instructions to ensure timely service
  • Resolve any service or product deficiencies at assigned stations to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Clean and set up assigned stations at end of meal periods and complete side-work
  • Perform duties such as manning non-cooking buffet action stations like carving or dessert stations
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests' staterooms according to company procedures
  • Deliver amenities to guest staterooms
  • Assist with private parties and functions
  • Field guest phone orders and handle according to procedures
  • Clear service trays from staterooms, corridors, and pantries promptly
