Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience as a front waiter with fine dining and banquet experience
  • Familiarity with wine and beverage product service
  • Intermediate to advanced English verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Willingness to work 7 days a week
  • Physical capability to perform shipboard duties including lifting, standing, climbing, and carrying loads as per US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential standards
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service
  • Positive behavior and teamwork skills
  • Ability to live and work in close quarters with cabin-mates

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years experience as a front waiter with fine dining and banquet service experience in a 3 to 4 star land-based hotel or resort, a free-standing restaurant with at least 180 seats, or similar shipboard position
  • Minimum two years experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products
  • Intermediate to advanced level English verbal and writing skills including proper grammar
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Courses or training in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations and procedures

Job Duties

  • Assist with achieving departmental guest satisfaction targets and food and beverage revenues by following established service strategies and optimizing up-sell opportunities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed
  • Be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and SEMS, and carry out relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensure that assigned station is properly set up with required china, glassware, silverware and mis-en-place prior to service
  • Comply with sequence of service for food and beverage, following lead/instructions of waiters
  • Resolve any service or product deficiencies to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Ensure proper cleaning and setup of assigned station after meal period
  • Perform jobs such as manning buffet action stations including carving and dessert stations
  • Deliver food and beverage orders and amenities to guest staterooms per company procedures
  • Assist with private parties and functions
  • Handle guest phone orders and clear service trays from staterooms and corridors timely
