Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years experience in fine dining or banquet service as a front waiter
- experience selling and serving wine and beverage
- intermediate to advanced English verbal and writing skills
- able to work in multicultural environments
- able to adapt to changing schedules and assignments
- able to carry trays with up to 12 covers or 16 glasses
- physically able to meet USCG Merchant Mariner Credential requirements including climbing ladders, lifting 40 pounds, standing for extended periods, and moving in confined spaces
- professional appearance and good hygiene
- able to work 7 days a week
- passionate about hospitality and customer service
- respectful to co-workers and guests
- positive attitude and able to work as a team member
- able to live in close quarters with cabin-mates
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience as a front waiter with fine dining and banquet service in a hotel, resort, freestanding restaurant or shipboard setting
- experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products
- intermediate to advanced English verbal and writing skills
- high school diploma or equivalent with relevant safety, environmental, public health and sanitation courses
Job Duties
- Assist with achieving departmental guest satisfaction targets and food and beverage revenues by following established service strategies and optimizing up-sell opportunities
- perform setup of assigned stations with necessary china, glassware, silverware, and mis-en-place
- comply with sequence of food and beverage service and follow waiter instructions to ensure timely guest service
- resolve service or product deficiencies in assigned stations
- clean and prepare assigned stations at the end of service periods
- man non-cooking buffet action stations such as carving and dessert stations
- deliver food and beverage orders to guest staterooms per company procedures
- assist with private parties and functions
- field guest phone orders and clear service trays from staterooms and pantries in a timely manner
