Established in 1962 as Salt Lake City's original country dance hall, bar, and grill, The Westerner has become a beloved local destination for those seeking live music, excellent food, and an engaging nightlife experience. Beyond live music, The Westerner offers a variety of entertainment options such as mechanical bull rides, pool tables, line dance and couple dance lessons, and a karaoke room, all designed to create a fun and safe environment for both customers and employees.
As a part-time Waiter - Waitress at The Westerner, you will play a vital role in maintaining the friendly and lively atmosphere that the restaurant is known for. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, night-life setting, typically working during peak hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 pm to 2:30 am. The position offers a competitive wage starting at $15 per hour for the first two weekends, moving to $5 per hour thereafter, with the opportunity to earn tips ranging from $100 to $150 each night. Your primary responsibility will be to take food and beverage orders from customers while providing outstanding customer service. You will navigate confidently between bartending stations and patrons, ensuring that orders are completed accurately and promptly. Additionally, you will be expected to comply with state liquor laws and handle financial transactions responsibly and honestly.

Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Utah Alcohol Server Permit within 14 days of hire
- Food handler's permit within 14 days of hire
- Ability to work Fridays and Saturdays from 7 pm to 2:30 am
- Reliable transportation to and from West Valley City location
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Willingness to comply with all company policies and state regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in restaurant service preferred
- Ability to work a night-life schedule including weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
