The 1918 Club is an integral part of Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), a program dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for military service members, their families, and civilian employees through a diverse range of leisure, recreation, and support services. Fort Benning's MWR provides numerous amenities and activities designed to foster community spirit and well-being within the military installation. Job Requirements

  • Direct deposit and social security card required
  • Meet qualification, eligibility and background requirements
  • Complete employment verification (E-Verify)
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • Position subject to change based on mission requirements
  • Work hours may include weekends, holidays and nights
  • Stand and walk for long periods
  • Lift and carry items under 10 pounds
  • Complete pre-employment checks per AR 215-3
  • May require Tier 1 background investigation for federal facility access
  • Complete minimum 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days
  • Complete minimum 4 hours annual refresher training
  • Must be 18 years old at appointment for serving alcoholic beverages

Job Qualifications

  • Meet state/local age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
  • Possess basic math skills to compute bills and make change
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Have relevant work experience performing identified duties

Job Duties

  • Set tables, arrange place settings and table decorations
  • Receive guests, make suggestions and answer questions about food, wines and other items available
  • Take orders and place them with kitchen and bar
  • Receive food and beverages when required
  • Maintain sales records
  • Collect payment by cash or credit card
  • Clear and clean tables and customer service areas
  • Provide work direction to other dining room staff as necessary
  • Apply knowledge of sanitary food handling and serving techniques
  • Compute checks and make change
  • Recognize signs of intoxication
