The company offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where team members have the unique opportunity to travel, grow professionally, and be part of a vibrant community at sea. Each voyage is designed to ensure guests enjoy memorable moments, making the commitment to excellence a shared goal among all staff members.
We are currently seeking full-time Waiters to join our prestigious restaurant team onboard the Pride of America Cruise Ship, sailing through the majestic Hawaiian Islands. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a luxury cruise line where your dedication and hospitality skills will directly contribute to elevating our guests' dining experiences. With a competitive pay rate of $16.50 per hour, this position invites candidates who are passionate about delivering impeccable customer service and excel in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
As a Waiter onboard, you will play a crucial role in achieving departmental goals related to guest satisfaction and food and beverage revenues by following established service strategies and optimizing upsell opportunities. Your responsibilities include ensuring your assigned station is meticulously cleaned and prepared, adhering to the sequence of service for food and beverage, and effectively coordinating with Assistant Waiters to maintain timely and efficient guest service. You will be expected to address and resolve any service or product issues promptly, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Additional duties involve supporting various sections such as non-cooking buffet action stations, delivering amenities during embarkation, assisting with room service deliveries, and contributing to private parties and functions. You will also assist in training Assistant Waiters and Restaurant Stewards, emphasizing teamwork and professional development.
A critical aspect of this role is compliance with safety and environmental protection policies and procedures, underscoring our commitment to onboard safety and sustainability. This position demands candidates with a professional appearance, good hygiene, and a respectful attitude towards guests and colleagues alike.
Beyond the immediate responsibilities, this role offers an extraordinary lifestyle experience by living aboard the Pride of America, allowing you to explore the Hawaiian Islands during off-duty hours. Crew members benefit from complimentary meals with four daily meals provided, as well as generous vacation time totaling five weeks between ship deployments. This unique employment model combines career advancement with the adventure of travel and cultural immersion, making it an ideal opportunity for hospitality professionals who crave both professional and personal growth.
We invite candidates with at least two years of front waiter experience in fine dining or banquet settings, preferably from 3 to 4-star land-based hotels, large free-standing restaurants, or prior shipboard experience. A minimum of one year of experience in selling and serving wine and other beverage products is also required. Passion for hospitality, excellent customer service orientation, and the ability to work seven days a week are essential qualities we seek. If you are committed to creating positive energy and fun in your work environment and take pride in providing outstanding guest service, this is the perfect position for you.
